I found this map in a small booklet published by the Ministry of Natural Resources and Tourism (Wildlife Division). I bought from a small shop in that new mall next to the Sea Cliff Hotel. The book title is SELOUS.

Thanks Saeed for the great map of the Selous. I was unable to locate one on my trip there last year. I have to make a second trip there in 2005. I discovered I left my heart there in September 2003 and must return to see if I can find it! Bull1

Thanks Saeed. I have probably looked at a hundred or more websites hoping to find a map like that. Cheers, Canuck

Would any of you care to give your opinon as to which blocks are the best for lion, elephant, leopard and buffalo?

BTT. I frequently hear that not all Selous blocks are equal. Some are better for particular species than others. In your experience, which blocks are the best for lion, elephant and leopard? Are ther any blocks you would avoid for any of the above? "There are worse memorials to a life well-lived than a pair of elephant tusks." Robert Ruark

quote: SBT, The bet lion and leopard block is not the best elephant block. If you book with one fo the reputable operators, they might have two or more block that will offer you the best opportunity (not guarantee; if they do guarantee then look elsewhere). Pasanisi and Luke smaras are 2 of the largest nad between them have more than half of the selous blocks' so they would be some of the outfitters to look at.... "...Them, they were Giants!" J.A.
