Is this some rare unheard of African plains animal? I keep seeing it brought up an awful lot here on the African Hunting forum. Seems most every thread has it mentioned a few times.

Sorry to ask. I'm from rural Pennsylvania... don't get out much...

A Mope is a term used here to make people angry. As you may have noticed there is a person here who has some self esteem issues and seems to seek self-validation by making others angry, and name calling is one of the first ways we as children learn that we can hurt others feelings, and so feel the illusion of self power. Of course we all know it does not do anything positive and makes both the participants feel bad inside.

Anyway, that is why you've been hearing the word mope a lot lately.

Funny you say that... I've been wondering exactly how old the above implied person really is.

Mope. A person who does no work. A "lazy bum".

What about those of us who are very 'impure'?

I believe a "Mope" is any of a group of pathetic morons! It is therefore a subjective species, as a "pathetic moron" is dependent upon one's point of view!

I think there are far too many "Mopes" on this website. Many seem to be driven by a general lack of knowledge coupled with an severe case of egomania!

Of course I could be wrong.

I completely agree.
However you must also add in scammers and unethical hunters and their schemes/fraudulent hunts.

There is a good definition of Mope in the thread about CARMELOL as the New African D/G Authority.
The post was submitted by RHS ( a non-mope )
