A formal apology is in order after various kind (and not so kind) remands from various interested parties.
Our web-site is being totaly revamped and rebuilt. The main reason for the delay is the fact that I have been in the bush the last three months with very limited access to my emails and/or the internet.

Responding to some of the following posters, as should be obvious, I meant no disrespect, it was posted in the way you took it, as humor.

Unfortunately, you, nor some OTHER posters in this thread, nor I can affect the market valuation of our countries currencies in relation to each other. The relatively small rise in the US$ value against the rand is a small respite for us in the US and, of course, includes our citizens costs in Europe, not only South Africa and Namibia. Given the current horribly irresponsible fiscal policies, both here and in Europe, disaster is a near certainty. We, that is, the US, at least have the ability to fix ours, however unlikely that result may be. The Euro zone, OTOH, has very little chance to fix it's problems because it has no real enforcement power against its members. I don't know how long the Germans, Scandinavians, etc are going to finance the laxity of Greek, Spanish, Portuguese, etc's current and past fiscal indiscretions with the sweat of their brow, ie taxes. I suspect it will significantly less time than many people believe. The current trend of piling money into US Treasuries as a safe haven is insanity IMO. They're about as safe as an outhouse in a hurricane. It's not that the buyers won't get their money back, they will, of course, since all we have to do is print a check. The safety question is, what will be the value of that check in real world commodities when they get it?

As is, billions, if not trillions of Euros are accepting a NEGATIVE return (that is, they agree to accept LESS than they deposit when they withdraw their funds) simply to move their money to where they perceive that it might be safe. People with money are scared, really scared, because when the majority of the people don't have any, or their money has become so worthless that they are in effect penniless, then governments and even countries fall and blood runs in the streets.
