My father an I are travelling to Namibia this summer. We are flying from Atlanta to Joberg, then on to Windhoek with SAA. My question is: Do we have to clear customs with our rifles since our flights are with SAA or will SAA transfer our guns to the next flight? There is about a 3 hour layover in Joberg before heading to Windhoek. Sure would be nice to not have to deal with the SAP. Thanks for any help.

Northway;

As long as your luggage is checked all the way through to Namibia, you shouldn't have to deal with the SAP bureaucracy in SA.

SAA says they will check the bags through. I plan on filling out the SAP form anyway just in case something happens.
