If am ever reincarnated as a buff, let it be known that I'd prefer one of us here shot me (heart or brain preferable, please) and hung on the wall above the fireplace rather than be subjected to this prolonged agony. Ma nature can be a downright cruel mistress!

Nature is not cruel, it does not "feel".

Wouldn't the fact that it doesn't "feel" be what makes it cruel?

Not going to click the link.
The reason I practice shooting is so I don't have to see animals suffer.
Can somebody sum it up for me?

Buff vs. lion. The eternal conflict. That's why I don't feel at all bad about making a clean kill on an old duggaboy. Doing him a favor.

"The universe is indifferent" is how I've heard it put...but don't ask me who said it..

I know some here are Taylor fans. There was that passage where he watched a long fight between a lion and buff, before finally deciding the poor buffalo had enough. So he whacked the lion. He said that buffalo would fall to his rifle someday too..

It's funny how the emotions are completely different when it's people against people.

Ah, thanks. I'm too familiar with the cruelty nature can dish out. Some people are not effected by it. I already have images in my head I wish I could erase. No need to add to the stockpile.

I tell you what PETA's gonna be pissed about that one!! Big Grin

With that I think they should spend a large portion of thier funds trying to ban lions from eating meat.

They could do a whole ad campaign with Liberal Hollywood celebrities like Pam Anderson and Susan Sarandon videoed live in, lets say, Botswana walking up to lions with soy burger patties and tofu, trying to convince the cats that meat is bad, animals are our friends.......I would love to see that, talk about entertainment............... dancing

Disemboweled and eaten alive is not a good way to go.

Makes a bullet through the heart seem kind by comparison.

Which in a nutshell was exactly what occurred to me, and why I thought it germane...
