A.DahlgrenLion is closed, Okavango elephants is closing..I would look into Tanzania for the big four if money isnt a problem or else you have Zim..I think Larry Shores that post here is going to The Savé with Zambezi Hunters next month for the big four, i think he will have a good chance taking them all... Safari Trackers had a client in Tanz last year that took ele, lion, buff, leopard in the first three days of his safari ! Ive used them both, good guys...
I dont know where you live but Zambia or Mozambique could be a good option, but you cant import ivory from Zambia or Moz if you live in USA if i remember correct.

kingsalmon4I was under the impression that Botswana has 150000 elephant. Am I mistaken?

Dutch44I believe that Botswana's quota for elephant is 300 per year with about 225-250 actually taken, if I remember correctly.

GeoffM24I was in Bostwana in May but I was just hunting plains game. The outfitter I used was great and they do hunt dangerous game in Bostwana as well.
You can book them with Wendell Reich
http://www.huntersquest.com/BotswanaOkavango.htmlI'm not sure what the status of the closings in the Delta are at this point.
I will say the Leapard hunting is very succesfull but it is with shotguns and dogs which is not my cup of tea and it is incredibly expensive, like 35-40K alone!
I'd probably look to Tanzania or maybe Zambia.

kingsalmon4Thanks, Dutch.I checked out the links you posted, A.Dahlgren. SafariTrackers looks good. Thanks. I've never been to Africa and I'm real glad to have stumbled onto this site. I hope to go in 2010 and any input is greatly appreciated.

shakariLeopard licences are also becoming hard to come by in Bots as well.
You might also find it useful to visit our site at

L. David KeithAlthough I book for two Outfitters in Botswana, your going to have to look elsewhere to find all that you seek. I have a number of top Outfitters in Zim. One has continued to be 100% on Leopard again this year. Buff, Elephant, Hippo, Croc and Lion are available. Rhino are available in Namibia or RSA but expensive. However, a green hunt is considerably less. We just did one in June. Check my report in the hunting forum; Natal and Limpopo. Tanzania is another option. We offer different blocks including the Selous.
Good hunting,
David

Every morning the Zebra wakes up knowing it must outrun the fastest Lion if it wants to stay alive. Every morning the Lion wakes up knowing it must outrun the slowest Zebra or it will starve. It makes no difference if you are a Zebra or a Lion; when the Sun comes up in Africa, you must wake up running......

kingsalmon4Thanks David, it looks like Tanzania will be a good fit for me. I'm not interested in rhino, but the ele, buff, lion and leopard are something I've always dreamed about. Time to make it a reality! Joe
