Might be going broke in one big jump - but worth it. Enjoy the trip and your rifle.

Best

There is no better way to slowly go broke IMO than buying a HEYM double rifle for an upcoming safari! Congrats on both (the double & safari) and sorry about the dwindling finances. Smiler

Ah shit you can always make more money but you can never buy more time to live your life on your terms...

On the plains of hesitation lie the bleached bones of ten thousand, who on the dawn of victory lay down their weary heads resting, and there resting, died.

Or walk with Kings - nor lose the common touch...
Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it,
And - which is more - you'll be a Man, my son!

It boils down to reckless priorities and addictions
That's how I look at my hunting endeavors

I think you are looking at it wrong, you just traded a bunch of worthless paper for a beautiful rifle and the experience of a lifetime. I would say it is the parties on the other side of the transaction that should be concerned about "going broke".

I never regretted the money I spent on quality.

I always regretted the money wasted on sub-par equipment or experiences.

You have made a fine choice. Congratulations.
