Japsie's having a hell of a season with the pending WR Kudu and now a pending world record Impala of over 31 inches from Dzombo Safaris in Namibia.

Impala are lovely animals. IMHO, they are one of the most beautiful of antelope species.

That one is amazing!

Actually, I am quite surprised South African doctors have not come up with some food additive that will make horns grow more.

They have been creating new version of animals for years, and all the best to them.

Found this photo from a South African hunting forum the impala looks the same as the one shot/hunted.

Thought this only happened in South Africa.
I suppose its better that the impala has been paid for and didnt just die like the 74" kudu bull that recently died on game breeding farm of natural causes.

I always try to use enough gun but then sometimes a brainshot works just as good.

Yep, though they made it a point of removing the protective tape and the earring for the photo.

Poor bugger went to the highest bidder.

Yes, this race for inches has nothing to do with hunting. A couple of years ago I shot a pretty large moose here in Norway. A quick shot and that was it. Doesnt make me a better hunter than the guy who shot the smaller one. Or, of course hunting with my Blaser makes me above average Big Grin

I have been hunting buffalo for so ,any years, shooting quite a few of them.

Some were very hard to get.

Like being followed for several days.

And the biggest one?

Saw him from the truck.

And 5 minutes later he was dead.
