I'm off to Tanzania this September to hunt Cape Buffalo and Crocodile. I just got to thinking -I will likely see some spectacular/interesting birds over there. Anybody know/have experience regarding the taking of birds in Tanzania for mounts? It would certainly dress up the trophy room/house.

I would doubt that the camp shinner has the knowledge to prepare birds for taxidermy. You would probably have to do it your self. Also, I think the only a few species are on license...

I can't comment on the legalities of taking birds in or importing them from Tanzania but...any taxidermist worth his salt will tell you that you shouldn't even try to prepare the birds for mounting. I was instructed by one of the best in the US to simply freeze them whole with a wad of kleenex in their mouths. This is what I would do.
