Well, everyone is complaining of lack of snow in the Alps.

Not where we are.

Yesterday we went up to 3000 meters.
The temperatures was -24 degrees C.

I took my gloves off to take some photos, and almost got them frozen solid!
Fantastic sight, though, as one looks down on a sunny day.

Sounds like your weather there is the same as we are having here! It was -24 C this morning too, but very sunny. I still have trouble picturing you enjoying negative temperatures, lol, but I am glad to hear you are having a good time and have enough snow to get some skiing in!

Best regards!
Chris

Thank you very much Eddy, and all the best to you and your family too in 2015.

We have a bit of a contrast.

I had my first hike up the mountains with snow shoes yesterday.

Very interesting indeed.

In the morning I took the train up, and walked 17 kilometers down to the village.

Beautiful scenery with the sun shining on snow covered mountains.

In the afternoon we went up with friends on snow shoes up another mountain and into a new valley.

Temperatures varied from -12 to -24 depending on the elevation!!

Not exactly what you have right now!!

Going home to the warmth of Dubai tomorrow.

It is 08:30 and hot enough for a cold beer. Just waiting for 12:00 when it's legal to have one or two!

Hello Saeed- Well, we had weather warnings of BLIZZARD CONDITIONS on both Mauna Loa and Mauna Kea for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day....12" of snow expected!!
Today when we drove over to Hilo, no snow on Mauna Kea and the observatories were clearly visible...but there was a little skiff of snow left on Mauna Loa....
On the other side the volcanos were smoking big and the wind blowing 50-60kts....and power was out...no lunch on the mountain on New Years Day!!
No worries, back in Kona....86 degrees and the Gin and Rum was waiting.
All the best for 2015!!

Cheers,

470EDDY
