Is there a map that shows the hunting blocks around the national parks? I am espically interested in the ones around Gonarezhou national park.

I have walked in the foot prints of the elephant, listened to lion roar and met the buffalo on his turf. I shall never be the same.

Malapati and Mahenye are the only two Hunting areas that border Gona Re Zhou. There are some private ranches that run down to the boundaries that used to be hunted by operators by I am unsure of how many remain in the right hands. The Save Conservancy is relatively close to Gona's and is only seperated by Malilangwe from the park itself.

PM me if you have any further questions

ZF,

I believe Malapati is the only Safari Area which borders GonaRezhou, but there should be more CAMPFIRE/communal areas. Sengwe 2, Naivashu, and the Meyer's lowveld concession (mahenye?) come to mind.

Nixon hunts Malapati and now Sengwe 2, Lloyd Yeatman in Naivashu. There are some very large bulls taken in this part of the world, so let's not shortchange these fine hunting areas.

Jack

I specifically stated Hunting areas rather than Safari areas as these are different classes of land according to the Parks act.
In addition, the Malapati , Sengwe 2, and Niavashu areas fall within the Malapati Rural council area which covers an enormous area.If you really want to get pedantic you can cut these down even further and state that the Rutenga, Mwenezi, Midzi, Mbizi, Beitbridge,Chitenda, paradise, blackwood, leadwood etc etc areas border the PARK

The Map held at National Parks in Harare, shows the Malipati area and the Mahenye areas as including all of the areas you mentioned. I specifically left off operators names as I did not want to leave anyone out. .....or get areas wrong for different operators .......
