Firearms clearance at Joburg?

Fergus_BaileyFirearms clearance at Joburg?
Is there anyone else in Johannesburg besides Afton that does a meet-and-greet with firearms clearance at the airport in and out bound?
For the record, I have nothing against Afton, its just they that they have not returned my email.
I cleared my owen firearms in Jo'burg in Oct of 2006. It's not a big deal, just have all the paperwork filled out and wait for them to issue your permit.

shakariThere's a few. We use Air 2000 because they meet you at aircraft side and take you through passport control as well. They'll usually have you through passport control AND out of the firearms office and on the street before the other passengers have got into the baggage hall. You'll find them at
www.hunterssupport.comAs DPM says, you can do it yourself, but it's a hell of a lot faster to use Air 2000 as the have your permit pre issued for you before you arrive.

Just FYI Afton Guest House DONT do firearms permits and/or firearms clearance anymore. Previously they did but no more.
They obviously still do meet and greet when you are formally booked into their Guest House for overnights.
There are a number of companies whom do Rifle permits for hunters and/or meet and greet services. The following spring to mind off the top of my head ... There are different services offered and different price structures so contact them individually and ask what they can do as service options do change from time to time

Russ GouldAfton just arranged permits for a group of my clients who are overnighting there on the way to Botswana..and they clearly do offer the service if you look at their website. However, it may only be for their guests.

They have obviously changed services again as some while back they discontinued that riflepermit service. That is why it is good to check the latest.
Thanks for the correction

L. David KeithAll of my clients use Air200/Hunters Support. We've had minor problems before (incorrect serial numbers, washed gun permits etc) and HS took care of the problem in no time. They were a great help. Their service includes: Meet you when you step off the gate, walk you through baggage, assist you with luggage, escort you through SAPS, and direct you through Customs. Well worth the fee. I would highly recommend them. Wouldn't hurt your escorts feelings to slip him a few bucks. Good hunting, LDK
ps: You can find their website at:http://www.hunterssupport.com/ Email Anne, she's good about getting back to you promptly. Remember the time zone difference.
