madabulaoverseas hunting trophy shipments into JFK alert!
(I'm not sure if this is the correct place for this posting but it could effect a lot of african hunters

Notice to Hunters with oversees shipments coming to the US:
I received an alert today from my good freind Maria at Hunter International Brokerage that may be of interest to anyone having trophie shipped into the US via air throught JFK. It came as an adobe reader file and I do not know how to convert it into text but it essentiall says that;
The UDSA will require "unprocessed trophies" from overseas routed via JFK be terminated in JFK and clear through customs, USDA and Fish & Wildlife at that port.
In essence, even if client is paying air freight all the way to SFO, or any other port his trophies will have to be dispatched or shipped from JFK to the designated approved facility at his own additional expense. (After clearing customs)
Clearance fees and physical examination fees in JFK are very expensive. Typical charge for a USDA inspection requiring a broker to be present is anywhere from $100 to $250 and same price on a Fish & Wildlife exam plus customs bond.
If you would like more info or a copy of the actual USDA memo contact; Maria Europa-Felix

L. David KeithHaven't you heard? Our Gov't agencies found out how business is done in RSA and Zimbabwe etc. They found a way to increase their "drink fund" without concerns of bribery charges being levied. I think the bathroom graffiti at their HQ reads something like this:
Rich man, rich man, dare he go...
'cross de Ocean wif hiz dough.
Shoot big critters wif he's gun,
"Damn!" he hollers "dis is fun!"
Now he wanna send stuff home,
Slow by boat, faster flown.
But furst, stuff gotta come by here,
so we can open, poke and sneer.
Fo dis pleasure, he mus pay,
Fiddy dollar every day!....and we's can keeps it plenny 'O days!!!

Every morning the Zebra wakes up knowing it must outrun the fastest Lion if it wants to stay alive. Every morning the Lion wakes up knowing it must outrun the slowest Zebra or it will starve. It makes no difference if you are a Zebra or a Lion; when the Sun comes up in Africa, you must wake up running......
"If you're being chased by a Lion, you don't have to be faster than the Lion, you just have to be faster than the person next to you."

BwannaI assume this will not apply to trophies where the mounting was completed in Africa?
