With the ever increasing hassle of importing rifles into RSA, I wonder if any of you have considered Tuli Block of Botswana as a viable alternative? It's good up close hunting, (especially well suited for bow-hunting), prices are lower than RSA, firearms import is easy and you can fly to Gabarone or Francistown without having to pass through South Africa.

I've been under the impression that Botswana was significantly more expensive than RSA. Is this not the case?
Your web site shows not much difference, perhaps a bit MORE expensive hunting . Do you have some specials on offer? Is it cheaper or easier to get there? Is SAA through JNB still the best way to get there?

Probably the best person to give up to date travel info is Kathi, and hopefully she'll be kind enough to post who flies to Gabarone from USA and Europe.... it's probably a good idea to avoid transitting through RSA due to the silly new firearms regulations here. Gabs is about a 2 hour drive from the hunting areas we use and we will collect you from there.

Tuli block is less expensive than other parts of Botswana as it's privately owned and there is no requirement to pay any Government licence fee on each animal before you hunt.

Daily rates (for 2005) on a 2x1 hunt are US$100 per hunter per day less than the 2004 rates for RSA.
