MARK H. YOUNGELEPHANT CITES NEWS
Folks,
Inspector Downey from the US,F&G called my client that took an ele in April today asking why my client had not applied for an import permit for said elephant. He also said he was the one to approves the permit. So we are providing all needed info and expect his permit to hopefully be approved. We had heard some rumbling about the permit process opening up following the mid term but did not expect it so soon.
Happy days. I think!
Mark

bwanamrmGood news! Hopefully we will see follow-through...
On the plains of hesitation lie the bleached bones of ten thousand, who on the dawn of victory lay down their weary heads resting, and there resting, died.
If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue,
Or walk with Kings - nor lose the common touch...
Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it,
And - which is more - you'll be a Man, my son!

jdollarDamn, his trophies were shipped here without him even applying for a import permit??
Vote Trump- Putin’s best friend…

INTREPID SAFARISHe will have a hard time getting that trophy into the USA if it was shipped with out a permit from USFW.I will be surprised if it does not get confiscated. Mark please keep us updated on this. We are waiting for permits from USFW as well at this stage, no Bontebok either. Wish the USA will let us run our game animals.

MARK H. YOUNGGuys,
Hold on! The ivory was on his list of trophies taken but not with the shipment. I would have thought that was obvious. Sorry if I confused anyone.

SaeedThis whole system just sucks!
If you are signatory to CITES, and the producing countries have permitted quota to export, why importing countries create so much hassle?

I have said the same in the past but when it comes to the USA and its screwed up USF&W the word "logic" is meaningless.

Tim HeraldNot to be a downer, but I had some checking done as I got excited too. My research says this inspector Downey is a guy at the airport who clears trophies. He is not the guy in the Wash D office that would approve permits. Things are the same in that office. Nothing is being approved or denied- they are all just on "hold". This will probably last until after the next election - if Trump wins again. Then these might be looked at. Believe me, I wish things were different, but this is pretty solid info from Wash DC.
Good Hunting,
Tim Herald
