Some years ago a man that used to keep a herd of buff for the purpose of producing disease free calves told me that bulls that had closed tight bosses, the bosses would spread apart again as they got old. I couldn't understand this but if the skull cap continues to grow/expand then yes, the bosses probally will separate.
