What's the difference between shooting "Cecil," possibly illegally, and the thousands of Zimbabwe natives who illegally snare antelope each year. If you think there is a difference, you are guilty of species-ism. From the standpoint of the antelope, you are a racist!

We hunters are to blame for this too.If we like sex it does not mean we should put pics and videos of ourselves doing it all over the web and such.There are things best kept private to some degree and hunting Africa is one,IMO.

Shootaway is not off base on this. Before you accuse me of being embarrassed I use my real name even on this forum.

Social media has not been our friend. Posting some of the crappy videos of kill shots and high fives on Facebook and You Tube has not helped our cause.

Social media could be our friend if we used it properly. We seldom show the benefits of hunting to the animals and communities in the hunting areas. We could use it to inform the general population it is legal to hunt elephant and lions in Africa, because I can assure you not only some anti-hunters think it is illegal, I have to explain to many fellow hunters it is legal to hunt these animals in Africa.

I disagree. As a kid I looked forward to the great TV shows of the era: MUTUAL OF OMAHA'S WILD KINGDOM, WILD, WILD, WORLD OF ANIMALS, WILD AMERICA, SAFARI TO ADVENTURE. There was more but these are the ones I remember. Should shows like this return we may win over the youth.

Have any of you guys ever seen any of the members of the PETA-HEAD club? They all look like the patients you see in mental hospitals.

In that setting they look normal!
