Moderator, if this is in the wrong thread, please move it...

At the SHOT show, I met up with the PH's from our first trip to RSA that we took the past Sept. We caught up on things and here relayed what happened with him and another "friend" PH.

While we were at the Johan's lodge in Sept, another PH from Walk and Seymore Safaris (according to my PH, Johan) "Big George" was there along with his client for 4 or 5 days. Big George was there with his bow hunting client and non-hunting wife to hunt a concession/property that Johan had access to that was limited to only bow hunting. It turned out that Big George's client shot what is expected to be the #2 SCI common blesbok (as it easily scored that position green and almost beat #1) along with a zebra and a black wildebeest that I know of.

It turned out that "Big George" didn't pay Johan for the hunt. For a while, Johan held the client's trophies including the big blesbok. After a short time, the trophies were released to the client as it turned out that he had paid "Big George" and it was "Big George" that hadn't paid Johan and it wouldn't have been right to hold them for something that wasn't the client's fault. The unpaid tab came to a total of over 35K Rand.

Needless to say, Johan isn't real happy. I'm posting this with the hope that folks will avoid booking with the shady characters of Walk and Seymore Safaris. It's a shame that even PH's can't trust their own.

I do not know any outfit called 'Walk and Seymore Safaris', but then I do not claim to know every operator in the business! WinkMaybe this posting will clear up something, but I sure hope it does not make the water muddy for some innocent operators or the wrong people. Maybe you are referring to "Walken Seymore Safaris"? They do have somone called 'George' and operate from Grahamestown, is this the crowd?

In good hunting.
