What are you guys opinion of hunting Namibia for Dangerous game? Are there many places to hunt dangerous game there that are not on a game farm without high fences? How would prices compare to hunting in Zim or Moz? Are there many outfitters that offer dangerous game hunts here? Thanks.

The Caprivi Strip. I believe Vaughan Fulton still hunts the area. I'd be more likely to go there than Moz simply due to import issues.

Yes it's cocked, and it has bullets too!!!

Check: Jofie Lamprecht Safaries.
I've hunted with his father twice.
He's a very fine young man with a lot of experience.

I got Mark Young to book me with Vaughan Fulton for elephant in the Khadum Park, October '12.

I'm under the impression the price was on par with most trophy bull hunts available in Zimbabwe. I think its going to be very hot but I'll be looking for ivory above or below 80#'s so I guess I think thats a little heavier than I'd expect from Zim.

Who knows! I'm looking forward to the adventure.

The Caprivi strip is a great value for DG hunting. The Caprivi is communal and unfenced.Trophy fees can be very competitive with other areas, in some cases real bargains can be had.

The area is not huge however and the number of operators in the area is fairly small. Karl Stumpfe has several options at this time. Salambala, Sobbe, North of Khadum.Jamy Trout may be another option but I am not sure what concession he holds.

I hunted with Vaughn Fulton a few years back but he no longer hunts the area (Salambala) where we hunted. Scott King's post just above mine mentions that he may be hunting the North of Khadum complex. Karl has that area and he may have sold some quota to Vaughn.

Another Caprivi PH is Allan Cilliers. There are others but the list is not all that long.

I have hunted with Vaughan 3 times, once in the caprivi, salambala. I spoke with him this past feb. According to him he just took over Kaudom north. Great working PH.

Karl Stumpfe would be my choice in the Caprivi. He has a first class outfit and good supply of quota.

Karl Stumpfe - elephant and leopard last November. Nothing but 100% positive experience with him and his outfit.

Nearly zero internet/cell in the areas he hunts but usually drives or sends one of his drivers to an area with limited reception about once a week and catches up on his emails.

Karl and Vaughn are good friends. When I hunted with Karl last year he exchanged phone calls with Vaughn several times during the time I was there. It would not surprise me to know that Karl had sub-leased him the area or sold him some quota there.
