Just wanted to give a thumbs up to Reiser Taxidermy and African Shipping Services for giving me a prompt and carefully packed shipment of my 4 animals taken in Namibia this July with Dries Visser Safaris.

I will say each animal was individually wrapped and skulls particularly triple wrapped to protect them, horns were not grease burned black and skulls were nice and white with no yellow fat stains.
I followed the tips from several and cleared the trophies myself to avoid the broker fees, it took about 2 hours of running the paperwork from USFW and CBP offices back to Delta's warehouse and now have my trophies back at home.

Thanks for your time, we hope to see you at DSC next week!

Congratulations on your accomplishment.
Some fine looking trophies indeed.

Staley: I've cleared my trophies from 5 hunts at DFW and have found the USFWS guys to be very helpful and the guys at CBP have been easy to deal with as well. The last shipment I cleared took less than 2 hours from my first stop at Delta until I was driving away from Delta with my shipment.

It is always nice when stuff arrives how it should. Packaged well and not damaged. I was not sure what to think last year but Paul Smith and Relive Africa did an amazing job packing and crating my stuff and the skulls ended up travelling just fine. Glad you have your trophies.

Staley and Bigguy458:

The only instance in which I felt I was overcharged in any way in regard to my 2007 African trip was the broker fees in clearing my trophies when they were shipped to me. They were outrageous and totally unjustified.

If you wouldn't mind, you might describe the necessary steps in trophy clearing. I'd very much prefer to do it myself next time even if it took 500 miles of driving and two days -- that would still be less cost than the ripoff at the hands of the custom broker I used.
