Seems like I'm going to have to do a bit of digging to get more information on this cartridge. Somehow I've been smitten with the concept that I just must have one. So, I might as well dredge up what little information there is out there on this round.

TIA

You have several responses to your question in the Reloading section. Will you purchase an original rifle, rebarrel a Ruger #1, or ??????

I have a VZ-24 that is barreled and chambered as a 35 whelen ackley, 24" 1-14 twist barrel.

The current thought is the finished rifle will have NECG barrel band front sight, london guns barrelband front swivel, Marbles rear sight. The stock I'm working on is a piece of claro, will have a dakota scalloped skeleton grip cap, packmeyer old english decelerator pad, ebony forend tip and ebony plugs over the cross bolt, fleur de lis 24 lpi patter. I'd like to do a color case finish on the bolt shroud, grip cap, and bottom metal, action and barrel to be cold rust blued.

Current scope bases/rings are weaver w/ a leupold M8 2.5X compact w/ 4a reticle and click turrets added by premier reticles. I'll likely change the base/rings in the future.

The only real bugaboo is trying to schedule the work in phases so I have a rifle to hunt with this spring and fall.

Hey Paul,
I envy you, a lovely cartridge that 350 Rigby. How are you going to get or make ammo for it - please let us know the details (I must have missed it if you posted it already). I'm assuming you are referring to the 350 Rigby Magnum (350 No.2 Rigby)?

Bertram makes brass, and CH4D has dies. I suppose mine won't be propper, as the bore is .358". I also plan to turn down 375 H&H brass, as betram 350 brass is rediculously exspensive $62/20 cases.

Thanks Alf, I looked it up quickly in COTW and saw the two grouped together, but didnt read the text, so I just assumednever assume.

I have a set of 350 Rigby dies, by RCBS. If anyone is interested in them I would like to sell them.

Paul,
Try to get some of that RSA brass as opposed to the lead like Bertram...
