I am planning my first trip to SA in May, 08. Does anyone have any experience with J. P. Kleinhans safaris?

I have experience with Claude Kleinhans of
Mafigeni Safaris Mafigeni Safaris

Claude and his wife Jill (also a PH) are wonderful folks. We consider them members of our extended family!

Jeff,

The Mafigeni Safaris that Rusty posted about is not the same Kleinhans as JP Kleinhans that you enquired about. The former operate from the Limpopo Province, while the latter is based in Hankey in the Eastern Cape.

Pleaase send PM with specific questions if you wish to know more.

In good hunting.

Is his link. I know that he and Craig Boddington are friends, but he does have very reasonable prices.

I would ask JP for a list of references and contact his references.

I have heard nothing but good things, but you never know.

You also might try The Hunting Report. You could buy a bunch of safri crituqes from JPs company for about $1.00 each.

I know JP personally and designed and maintain his web site. I can tell you he is a great guy with hundreds of happy clients, though I have yet to hunt with him. Ask for references and follow up with them. He takes some great trophies each year in RSA and has added a dangerous game area in Mozambique this past year as well. Super guy and hell of a good taxidermist as well.
