Since I am probably the last guy on earth without cable/satelite, someone should record that and send me a copy.

Metalman, I caught that show and agree with you on the early charge sequence, it was fantastic. The PH stood his ground while the bull charged to within feet and never lost his cool. Did you notice the way the elephant swung his trunk as he got close. I've always heard and read about a bull using his trunk as a weapon and that was hard-core proof. What is amazing is how much the trunk of an elephant weighs. It could do some serious damage. The trunk of my bull was cut off and pulled to the side at the beginning of the process of skinning him. According to my PH, the trunk of the bull, along with the shoulder he fell on belongs to the chief of the village in the area the bull was taken in. It took three of us to drag the trunk out of the way. The actual hunt was interesting. The hunter hit the bull too high and the bull wasn't even stunned. He merely shook his head and turned to run. The hunter hit him broadside and the bull took off. I heard a couple of shots while untangled his sling and then ran around the tree to shoot. I would imagine the PH hit him a couple of times with the double he was carrying. When he gets to the bull he is on his side, a finishing shot and then, miracle of miracles, the bull is neatly posed with his ivory gleaming white! The power of TV editing. I don't know what our boy was shooting but it was a synthetic stocked Remington with a BIG scope on it. Looked more appropriate for beanfield whitetails than Botswana elephant to me!

High it is. I was looking at the hole after the kill. Maybe I was looking at blood. I didn't see the "impact" bwanamrm, was the bull on his side when the last insurance shot was taken? I wonder if a truck can can pull a bull up like that easily in that soil? I took from it : - If you are going to make a $25K brain shot, be sure to make it! I would think it would be devestating to miss it and have the PH finish off the elephant. Although, the guy did get in a rapid body shot, so I guess he had the first "killing" shot in. - I never really had a rifle sling bother me except in Africa. If that bull had been able to come to him, his sling being hung up in the sticks could have been a serious problem. As it is, it let the PH get WAY ahead of him.

Hi Guys: Yepper I saw that show. It was sheer luck to... I was surfing the cable cahnnels and I always check and see what's happening on the Outdoor Channel. That first bluff charge was amazing to say the least. That PH had balls of steel. I don't know if I could of held my ground with a 13 ft, 12,000 Ele charging at about 10 yards. It looked the the first shot went high, who knows where the second clients body shot went. But I think the PH leveled two shots from that big double he was carrying. I don't think the rifle was a Remington though, it had a spiraled bolt, like on a Brown Custom. The scope looked way to big though for Ele. Good Flick, I wish I would of taped it. Regards...
