Hey all, Thought I'd pass on some news I got this week... While talking to a salesrep from Midsouth I was told my 6 month back-order for Hornady 500gr RN (Interlock) bullets has been delayed due to them no longer carrying that bullet... After the initial sinking disappointment (they're reasonably priced and accurate) she went on to say it's because they've come out with a new 500gr RN "Interbond" to take it's place! This should be a huge improvement and I look forward to getting my hands on them. She said the letter from Hornady said they should be shipping them out to distributors by end of August or early September. And she also noted the price was only about a dollar more per box over the original 500gr RN. Bonded-core bullets are generally superior to traditional jacketed lead bullets for large game and in recent years this has been the trend in premium hunting bullets. I know Hornady has recently been introducing the Interbond line of bullets but had not heard anything about the heavier caliber line. Three cheers to Hornady! Can we hope for the same in the 300gr .375 RN???? I've not heard anything about this, but logic seems to point that direction... Anyone heard anything else about this?

Great news! The Hornady's should be the equal of Woodleigh Weldcores now. The old 500gr/.458cal RNSP "Interlokt" Hornady bullets would shed their cores on cow moose at 100 yards when I tried them at 2150 fps MV in a .458 WinMag. Plinking prices for a premium bullet ain't bad at all. Thanks to Hornady and the messenger. It had to happen.

I found out the same info form Hornady last week, after Midway cancled my back order (see post in reloading forum). You can order them direct from them Hornady at this time. I have three boxes on the way. -Steve

Thanks for the add'l info Steve... I didn't see your post in the reloading section, it must have been several pages back. Sorry for creating a repeat posting... I guess the new rage over the .458 Lott has made Hornady realize they better improve that interlock softnose cuz at 2300fps it's gonna play hell on that bullet. I hope their 300gr .375 RN goes to Interbond soon too, as this would be the logical step for all their big game bullets.

The .458 Lott factory load with the 500 grain Interlock soft point worked fine for me on a Selous buffalo last year. The shot was behind the shoulder, through the ribcage, heart and lungs. The bullet penetrated to the far side, expanded all the way back to the "lock," and the core stayed with the jacket. I'm sure the Interbond will be a great bullet for the Lott, though--maybe even better than the Woodleigh--and I'm looking forward to trying it.

458, Shoot, No problem! Didn't mean to imply anything. Sorry if it sounded like it. Take Care, -Steve
