I can't blame AR for my first trip, but it certainly contributed towards the SECOND one for leopard! Found it while researching info for the 375 H&H I had decided to take to Namibia, and have enjoyed every post read since.

I would have never gone to Africa if not for AR and the information I gained here. I also discovered the world of the larger chamberings and continue to learn more each shooting session. Thanks to you "AR Idiots" a new world opens daily. Good shooting. phurley

Because of some horrible twist of fate my first safari was planned a short time before Al Gore invented the internet. Most of the information collected during the planning stages of my first safari came from books, Capstick, Boddington, and Ruark. It was not until after I had muddled my way through my second Zimbabwe safari with a push feed Remington .375 that I discovered Accurate Reloading. Although this forum did not inspire my efforts to hunt Africa, I find it a fantastic source of information, as well as an endless source of entertainment. Where else could you meet someone who goes backpack hunting above timberline in the mountains and regards a flashlight as unnecessary equipment? I am not really going because of AR as it has always been a dream of mine. But without AR I would have no where near the information I have on what to expect, how to get there, etc. AR has provided me with a wealth of knowledge that has made my dream a reality as I have booked for 2007. crl The average man's love of liberty is nine-tenths imaginary. It takes a special sort of man to understand and enjoy liberty; and he is usually an outlaw in democratic societies.

Back in the late 1980's, I booked a Cape Buffalo hunt knew nothing about it just always wanted to go since I was a young kid. Well that trip got cancelled due to some pressing business. I guess Africa was always in the back of my mind, however, without AR and some of the members here, I am not sure when I would have gone. I have been fortunate enough to make two trips to Tanzania over the past 18 months. I owe a big THANK YOU to AR and many of the members here for all the great information provided! Without T. Carr I would never have been able to post pictures and his packing list was a great guideline...Thanks Terry!

I made two trips before I ever heard of AR. My 05 trip to Zambia for buff was a direct result of info found on this site.

My interest in African hunting dates back to 1985 when I looked for employment in Southern Africa and even as far afield as Ghana. Ended up in Europe instead and travelled down South instead while there. The internet and good African hunting forums and websites, and searches on the internet sure make it easier to get extensive information quickly and easily. I joined AR in 2002 just prior to my last and third visit to Africa, plus with email it certainly made it easier to do.
