On a recent trip to Northern Kruger , after a hunt, I was again reminded of how special this remote northern section of Kruger is. We saw lots of game , and were treated to some spectacular sightings.
My apologies for photo quality.

What unbelievable animals. Those tusks will take your breath away. It would be interesting to know the age of those bulls.

Makuleke? Between the Limpopo and Luvuvhu? The place is truly magic. Believe it or not, my first safari was there hunting with Wayne Wagner in 2001. If I had it to do over again, I would have borrowed the $40K necessary to buy one of the elephant permits that year.

Jan,

Jean-Claude didn't mention this trip to me, so I guess it was either before or after. Great photos, great animals.

Thanks Wink , We did this trip with them towards the end of their trip. We spent 2 nights in the National Park. Its always a pleasure to show people the Kruger that I know and love . My very earliest childhood memories are those with my family in Kruger. A very special place to me.

No apologies needed for those pictures, they're great.

I was able to visit Kruger NP after my first African hunt back in 2000. We only spent one night there, and yes, it is a special place.

Awesome. Can imagine how 100 years ago much of today's bush Africa must have produced trophies of similar quality for local species!

Jan, many thanks for sharing these wonderful photos! Fabulous creatures, one and all!

I am a hunter, and would gladly and solemnly hunt and kill every one of them, but only fairly and sustainably, so that their brothers and sons, for generations to come, could thrive and survive.

Far into tomorrow, and into further tomorrows beyond then, for our children, and our children's children, to celebrate and hunt them in the same way.

Every creature on earth exists in a position of superiority, or inferiority, to every other. As predator or prey, one exercising dominion over the other. We, who are at the top of the food chain, owe a special debt to all others.

Your photos are a tribute to their majesty, and a humbling reminder of our obligations as hunters, both now, and for all time.

What a fantastic area that part of Kruger National Park. Not far from it, 30 years ago, was my home for several years, almost every weekend one could find me in Kruger. Since many years I'm guiding there.

Thanks Saeed , I almost didn't take a camera on the trip and it was a last second thing as we rolled out of hunting camp. Maybe if I pay more attention and invest in proper equipment I could learn to take pictures like you and Wink .
