BakesLive Report From The Selous - Videos Are Being Added!
I'm back from holidays and can finally see all the pictures on my computer screen and not my little phone screen. Love the two storks fighting!
And what's really cool is that I know where some of the pic's have been taken as I remember the background landscape from last year.

A mate of mine has just told me he's shagging his girlfriend and her twin. I said "How can you tell them apart?" He said "Her brother's got a moustache!"

SaeedTony,
And yesterday I saw some of your photos of last year - still on Walter's camera!
That useless photographer had about half a dozen photos on his camera, so I transferred them to my computer.
And guess what?
He had all the photos he had taken last year - all of 2 dozens of them - still on his memory card!
I think Walter can use his 8GB memory card for all the safaris he has ever been on - and all his future ones two!

EsskayBrilliant Saeed, thank you so much for sharing! The photography is incredible, not just in quality but also choice of subjects and composition.

Saeed

We saw so many buffalos today, in the afternoon we were on top of a hill and saw three separate herds feeding.

RIPGood times in the bush for all, great entertainment for us watchers too.
The eland photo looks like an impressionist painting.
Did Hessa do that?
Or is it a telephoto from 2 miles away?
Great stuff, even the ones that are in focus.

Going on Safari with Walter is like swimming with the crocs.

SaeedWe srated early as usual, and went looking for buffalo and eland.
Found a herd, looked it over, and saw no mature bulls we could shoot.
Left them and headed out looking for eland.
We found lost of eland activity in one area, and drove around for fresh tracks.
Found some that were from the previous day. It was lunch time, so we stopped in some shade and had our lunch.
At three we left, and soon came across an eland herd.
And most surprising thing was they were actually upwind of us!!
We followed them.
We could not see any bulls, only cows and young ones.
We stayed with them, as they were feeding in relatively thick bush, and one cannot see all of them. They were also spread over a large area.
And the way they were going, they will soon end up down wind of us!!
Eventually Alan spotted an old bull, but as usually happens, he was no clear for a shot.
One cow came towards us - I think she could see us, and was wondering what we were.
We stood absolutely still.
She turned around, headed back to her herd.
Another cow passed through a gap in the bush, and Alan said the bull was following her.
Soon he appeared, and I fired a 300 grain Walterhog bullet at him.
We could hear the bulet connect as he took of, with us running at full speed.
We found him dead about 60 yards from where he started.
We cut him into two pieces, loaded him up and headed to camp.

BiddlemanThe game scout in the picture with the zebra looks like he has a nice example of a Chicom Side folding AK. If you're into that kind of thing.

RIPJust WOW!
Amazing photo quality, macro and micro. They deserve much study, for their beauty, art, and contributions to science.
They bring new standards to art and science, including the discipline of scatology which must be redefined:
"Scatology: The study of fecal excrement, as in medicine, paleontology, and accuratereloading.com."
This revised definition will surely be included in the next edition of
The American Heritage Dictionary of the English Language.
Let's hope Walter didn't BBQ a bait animal this year. It has actually happened before.
