Earlier this year I was hunting in Chirisa and I made a promise to my appointed game scout that I would make it a point to get him copies of all the pictures I took after he took a keen interest in the camera I was using and the quality of the pics. He left me with his mailing address when I left Zim. I came home and promptly mailed out the small package to him with all the pics.. Many months later, here it is sitting back on my bar here in AZ, returned back to me with several "undeliverable" stamps on it from the USPS..

Being one to hold my word to someone, no matter how far away, I'd sure like to see to it that Kuda gets his long overdue pics and a hello letter from me. If any of you guys are planning a trip to Zim, and dont mind taking a small package into the country and having your PH drop it in the mail service over there, I would surely appreciate the help. I'm sure that once in country, it'll get to his door with no problems.

I'll be heading back over there next Oct, but that sure is a LONG time to make a man wait for something that was promised to him and was supposed to get there back in April of this year..

Thanks in advance, gents.

Not sure if you going to find someone this late in the year. But if not, I am sure one of the many Zimbos attending the shows will help out. If you fail to find anyone, I would be happy to bring them back and deliver them.

We will be in Dallas at Booth #75 and in Reno at Booth #8. Just pop it by.

From reading this post and your hunt report it is clear that you got on well with your game scout. Like you I was lucky to have a great game scout when I hunted Zim. He was up on world politics and became a valued member of our hunting party. We even exchange letters from time to time.

The reason I mention this is because his name was also Kuda. With all the stories of bad game scouts it is quite a coincidence that there are two good ones in Zim named Kuda.

Hunting in Africa is an adventure. The number of variables involved preclude the possibility of a perfect hunt. Some problems will arise. How you decide to handle them will determine how much you enjoy your hunt.

Just tell yourself, "it's all part of the adventure." Remember, if Robert Ruark had gotten upset every time problems with Harry
Selby's flat bed truck delayed the safari, Horn of the Hunter would have read like an indictment of Selby. But Ruark rolled with the punches, poured some gin, and enjoyed the adventure.

Just mail them, in care of the PH if necessary. International mail is pretty cheap.

One of my hunting mates posted a fishing rod to a Game Scout.
Pictures should not be a problem.

I already did mail them, guys.. WAY back in March. They were gone for months (I thought they had made it no problem), then the other day, they showed back up in my mailbox here in at home with several UNDELIVERABLE stamps on the envelope.

I knew it was getting really late in the season to find anyone heading into Zim this time time of year. In any case, I may just take them with me this coming May when I'll be back on the continent. Last ditch effort will be next Oct when I'll be back in Zim itself. I'd sure hate to wait that long though.

JBrown, he was quite up to date with current events and such and quite sharp. Really personable, likable guy. Was hard working and a pleasure to hunt with. It's good to have those kind of guys around when your over there.

Ant, thanks for the offer. If I cannot find anyone between now and then, I'll probaby just take you up on that offer. I'll be at the Dallas show this year. Thank you for the offer to help out.
