It's that time of year again (my favorite). So, are you going to the shows? Where are you going hunting? What are you buying? What are your plans for 2011 and beyond?

My favorite time of year also.

Going to DSC this year with my 11 year old son; have been to Reno four times but not this year.

Deer hunting in Florida panhandle this month.

Just bought a couple of Swarovski scopes at Mark's in B'Ham (really good sale prices), and a couple of Mauser rifles (.280 Rem and .404 Jeffery). Also got several Auburn hats, shirts, sweatshirts for the boy. War Eagle!

Planning on Zimbabwe again for 2012; bull ele this time I hope and buffalo of course. I was planning for tuskless and buffalo in 2011, but I am going to put off until 2012 so I can bring home some tusks.

Happy Holdidays to all.

My daughter always gets me something unique for Christmas so that is a worth-waiting thrill.
I'm still healing from my adventures in Iraq so hunting this year was extremely limited. DSC's show in January is going to be like a second Christmas.

I am going to go to the new African show in Atlanta. Starting a new job soon so any other shows will not be possible. As far as hunting goes it is whitetail deer season here now until Jan. 1st. As far as Africa I will hopefully be going to RSA in April to make up for a trip I had to cancel back in August due to illiness, again this is something I will have to work out with the new job.

Good Hunting,

2011 will find my wife and me in Argentina. Our trip begins with a 4 day float/fly fishing trip in Patagonia, followed by a 7 day free range red stag/blackbuck hunt in La Pampa.

Over Thanksgiving my wife commented that she would really like our oldest son to experience an African safari like the one we took our youngest son on. That has opened the door to some prviously forbotten funds. So, while at DSC, we will shop for a 2012 Leopard hunt in Zim or Mozembique.

VFR1: 20 miles south of Tallahassee in the pine trees! Miles and miles of pine trees; but for some reason I had to buy a Christmas tree!

Maybe going to Reno, nothing booked yet for 11". Moose etc as usual in Sweden. Offer me a hunt for a white bear in Nunavut to a "fair" price and I will book.

Wife has a Spring Break trip to Wash DC for all the grandkids, then 2 weeks in Italy in Sept. That puts off my next African trip to 2012. Should just be a shopping trip in Reno to book another buff/tuskless ele hunt.

No winter shows for me ............. avoid them like the plague. The big city and thousands of people are not my idea of fun. Going to the dentist is more enjoyable. Staying home, look after the livestock and trap.

Guide bear next spring and early fall, then off to Sweden and Germany for my first hunts in Europe.

Going with a couple friends and family to visit my buddy in South Africa (last of June thru first part of July). Will hunt with that crew for 8 days. Should be fun!
