Swift is a mess in my opinion. Great bullets, terrible operational capability. I'm switching my last Aframe load to Barnes. Heaven help me if my test loads on a Scirocco I have work well. Not sure what I will do.

Try Barnes. They are in stock and work.

The best I can offer re Swift is to place an order directly with them and wait.

I've gotten some .30 bullets that way from them.

It won't work for something coming up near term, but longer it will.

This is kind of why when I was working up hunting loads for my african guns I worked up multiple bullets. Usually I can find a brand somewhere- North Fork, Barnes, Swift, Woodleigh, or Trophy bonded. Haven't done CEB, but that would be another one.

I have my loads for my .416s, my .375, my .470, and buy stuff when I see it, and then have the load set up for whatever components I have. It occasionally means that I hunt with the rifle I have the components for, but that's no big loss to me...

I know of a local gun shop that had one box left a week ago. They had 2 and I bought one box, didn’t want to take their last box. They’d been there a while, old style box from years ago.

Same shop had Woodleigh softs and solids for 465 NE and some Trophy Bonded Sledgehammers in 375.

If you want their information, send me a PM and I’ll forward it to you.

I talked to the owner of Swift bullets and he said they'd be producing .416 caliber 400 grain bullets sometime in the fall, as with everyone else nowadays I'm sure they're having trouble finding workers and materials to manufacture.

I've learned Swift's aren't for last minute shoppers. I buy as they come available regardless of my travel plans.

If you like A frames I would suggest NorthFork soft points. Think of an A Frame with a a solid shank. Tend to be very accurate as well.

Northfork in stock at International Reloading.

I use them for my 404J and 458WM. GREAT bullets.

I was going to switch from 165 gr Aframe .308 to NF, but going to Barnes due to higher BC and Barnes has served me well.

BUT - if I was doing a 416 load. I'd start with NF. Hands down.

NF Soft point are excellent. Tough controlled expansion for big tough animals.

I have never used them. I like the Barnes TSX.

I do have a box of 49 .458” 500 grain A-Frames that I got in a package deal. No idea why one is missing.

If anyone wants to make me a fair offer, I’d be happy to give them a new home.

My own rating of Swifts and Nosler partitions.

They are better than normal soft points.

But not as good as solid shank bullets like the Bear Claws.

And the Bear Claws are not as good as HP copper like the Barnes and others.

Swifts tend to loose the lead out of the rear end.

Solid shank bullets don’t.

The Northforks in 400 grain for my .416 Rem and 270 grain in my .358 STA served me extremely well in the Selous. The .416 for Cape Buffalo and .358 STA for all plains game. I tried all the bullets on the market and nothing comes close to the Northforks in accuracy and weight retention and perfect mushrooms. The cost is a little more but well worth it in the end. Good Shooting.

Not a fan of Barnes. I've used all of the others mentioned on buffalo and my favorite is the A Frame. Liked TBBC as well.

I have some Barnes in both softs and solids that I have used on some Safaris and in hunting here in the States. Great bullets, but I'm just not a fan of the copper fouling and buildup, and the resultant cleaning required. With that being said, the majority of my 16 Safaris in Africa, hunting in Mexico, hunting the Western States and hunting in Alaska, has had me shooting TBBCs and TBSSs with absolutely no problem whatsoever.

I shoot 570g TSX's in my 500 Jeffery, 400g A-Frames in our 416 Rem Mag, 300g A-Frames in our 375 Weatherby Mag, and finally 150g Partitions in my 270 Win. So many great bullets these days.

Chuck

What I did. Used Trophy Bonded Bear Claws, the A-Frames. Could not get the ammo readily, so swithced to Barnes TSX. I don't use solids anymore...
