Anyone have a concern over an older Ruger in a .458 WM with tang safety? Any particular pitfalls to watch out for?

dc: They were fine rifles, sort of a hybrid PF/CRF. A bit nose heavy, but some had some gorgeous wood and I thought were very well made.

That's good to hear since I bought one in new condition about a month ago. I really like it. It handles well and is easy to control. I put a white bead on the front sight. Otherwise, it is factory. It's very quick to the shoulder and on target. The sights are easy and quick to acquire.

It's a semi-pushfeed. It shoots very nicely and digests cast bullets very well. Hardly no recoil at all. This is the softest recoiling 458 WinMag I've ever shot and owned.

I bought one for myself as a college graduation present in 1981 for the princely sum of $375.00 brand new. It was one of the best purchases I ever made. Great rifle, shoots and handles well.

How many does it hold? 4 or 3?

I am building a 358 on the ame action and I was wondering how many of those Big Normas would fit in the mag.

My 30-06 holds 6!
