wowwww,,,just read a post here that nearly made me gag with laughter. thanks guys!
now on with the program folks...
just got a smokin deal on remingtons AR-10. havnt smoked the barrel yet but put a 3-9 X on for initial shooting. very sexy rifle and in 308 to boot. i would like some opinion/facts about what parts interchange with this rifle and reports on the gun in general. thinking about trying a brake/suppressor but have no real experience with this settup.
i know that i will not be bored with the reply's i get here and hopefully some kind individule's will educate me concerning this "new" gun to my stable.
i have an old sp-1 and love it now as much as the day it came home with me{ages me huh?].
thanks Ted

It's a pretty nice gun. Made by DPMS and DPMS makes mags too. They have a good reputation for accuracy. Most parts are NOT interchangeable with Armalite AR10s, Rock River BAR10s or the Knight rifles.

My first & only preference is the ArmaLite AR-10 that uses modified M14/M1A mags(Gen1).
Dan, nice to hear there is an aftermarket available. I called Remington customer service and asked about high cap's when they announced the gun. They said they were not going to make then and there was not an aftermarket that would work. I did tell them that the lack of 20 rounders would limit sales and some folks (like myself) would pass because of only politically correct magazines.

There is only 1 AR-10 and thats an Armalite. The rest are clones.
DPMS makes 308's that do shoot well but I feel their parts are inferior.
Really want to make bolt gunners cringe at the size of your groups? throw on a Noveske (PacNor) barrel 308.
Assualt ban and the affect on high cap mags (M-14 conversions) almost killed the AR-10. Now Armalite fixed the magazine issue and they are grear rifles. Just heavy though.
BTW: If you are running a collapseable stock swith the buffer weight to a H3.
finally put some rounds thru the remington...very nice!!!
busy with work so am still doing my breakin on the barrel but i really like the way this rifle shoots. trigger is attrocious..no really...very bad!! going to put an aftermarket trigger group in to bring it into what can be called a decent trigger lettoff. other then that im very happy so far. will post when i get the breakin done and can shoot for groups. any suggestions on trigger groups for this??
i ordered mag's from 44mag.com. good buy...we will see if the quality is there...more on this when i recieve them. dogteams are a little slow up here!!! ted

Yes the LAR-8 It is awesome! Picked one up about a year ago.
Yes, I got caught up in the Black gun craze, but I am glad I did. I like these guns.
LAR-8: Mine is accurate and I have only tried 2 loads and I still have the two piece plastic handguard on it. Still, I can still get sum MOA groups. I have not tried tinkering with bullets and loads yet. I suspect this is going to be an accurate gun.
I just ordered a free float handguard (only ones that fit are made by RRA). Good lookin gun and a heck of round.
