Fun, fun. If you can get/afford this baby, you already have a "can" that can handle full-auto, no doubt. flame <---- I don't mean flame, I mean gun powder *flames*. dancing

This is a SBR not full auto. But yes I have quite a few cans and find them more fun than full auto. It is also easier on the wallet.

Excuse my ignorance, but what is SBR? It appears to have a shorter barrel than my 6920, is it NFA because of the barrel?

SBR is "short barreled rifle" and is indeed an NFA item at an 11.5" barrel length.

SBR of that length is fun ... but an M16 shorty is a hoot! You can feel the pressure waves on your face when you fire one FA. Big Grin

Saw a magazine ad for a 12" .308 the other day. Bet that doesn't have much muzzle blast.

A 12" 308 Win would give entirely new meaning to "Fire in the hole."

Rich

I am building another pistol receiver AR with an 11" barrel in 300 BLK. NOE is going to make a run of 247gr flat nose spitzer mould shortly. With a can and staying sub, it should be a lot of fun to shoot.

WOW ... a 12" .308? Oh my!

The Seals commented that a 15" M60 sounded like a MaDuece ... and "the bad guys keep their heads down!" I can't even imagine a 12'!

Tim,

that is just beautiful.

Have you had issues reloading the brass? I am still torn between an AR-10 and a PT-91 for my MBR.

Rich
absolutely the cat's ass!

Rich,
HK's are hard on brass. I only shoot berdan primed surplus in this rifle. In my opinion (not that you asked for it) I think the AR-10 is the more practical rifle.

Owwww!

One of our guys in Danang cut the barrel off at the end of the handguard, and did not replace the flash suppressor. It was quite, shall we say, interesting?; to see it at full auto one evening.
I am still not sure if the kill was bullet impact or 3rd degree burns over the entire front of the body.

Woo-Hoo!!

Rich,

Did he make any attempt to crown it or did he just lop it off with a hacksaw? Did you guys ever try to shoot it for accuracy after he did his jungle gunsmithing? I'll bet that was a sight to see in action at low light.

Hacksaw special. I took point one mission and carried it. Oh my... You could center mass a guy pretty easy at 50yds. We seldom shot farther than that. One of those "Close encounters of the first kind..." programs.

Rich, sir, if you're the least bit serious about PTR91 vs. AR10, throw an FAL into the mix. I think you would be glad that you did.

I have, they just seem to have issues when you try and get down inside the 3moa zone.
The only real issue I have with the PT-91 is how it beats the brass. The new ones are supposed to be a kinder, gentler version.
I shot a well built AR-10 a week ago. Five shot groups at a hundred in the 1"-1.25" range. Five 5-shot groups averaged 1.18". And, having owned AR-15s, and carried various models in combat in RVN a couple years, I am inclined to go with what I can field strip and reassemble in the dark in less than a minute.

That said, I appreciate your comments, and maybe I need to take a second look.

regards,

rich
