Hi all

Me and my uncle are looking to build a Ar in 458 socom. I found the rockriver arms upper for what looks to be 7-800 bucks. Have not figure out what lower to go with. We have nerver owned or put together one so it will be a first and a learning process. We do have a budget of about 1000-1500 which I think is doable the lower the price the better since moneys tight but its something we can do together. I have my doubts with the std stocks you get with put together lowers due to the heavy calibr I was looking at the magpul line of stcoks but they are high dollar. Any input whatsoever would be appreciated

Go over to the458 SOCOM Forums. Lots of info. Over on AR15.com Flintknapper and Big-Bore both seem rather knowledgeable on the subject.

Is that RRA upper complete ready to go? Couple things I don't like about the Magpul butt stock....they are very expensive and some of the models make the rifle a lot heavier. Other then that I think they are great and Magpul makes dang good stuff.

I'm talking about the Magpul model that is solid and has the adjustable cheek piece, etc. Those are heavy. They are rifle length not for the carbine. The skeleton ones and carbine models are light.

Sounds like a good deal on the upper. RRA does nice work too.

AIM Surplus had SOPMOD stocks for $99 shipped. The have and improved cheek piece-not raised-and rubber buttpad.
