In .308 it's called an AR-10 and for my money, I can't do any better than Rock River

I own both I have found the mini to be a reliable rifle. Matter of fact I just wacked a yote with my ranch rifle this morning.

The AR style rifle are also good finding mags and other items for them is easier the the Mini's.

If it was down to not haveing a rifle and buying a Mini I would have any trouble using a Mini.

Hi-cap mini-14 mags are expensive, Mini-14 accuracy sucks (I know...I owned one), and there are about 100x more available parts and accesories for the AR. I think the choice should be fairly obvious.

For real-life carrying in the fields and woods, and general "outdoor-loafer" type huntng, I much prefer the Mini-14.

For target matches, benchrest work, and maybe even "house-clearing", I'd prefer the AR-15 or M-16.

But to be cpompletely honest, for the first kind of work I'd not want any semi-auto, and for the second kind of work I'd prefer a full-auto, thus leaving out both Mini-14 and Ar-15 from my own personal list of "druthers".

My country gal's just a moonshiner's daughter, but I love her still.

AR-15 over the Mini BY FAR!

For a .308 AR, I like the Armalite AR-10 and the DPMS.

I own the Mini 14 and have put a flash guard on it and that helped my accurate shooting I also changed the stock. I have also put a scope on it
and now it puts all the rounds inside a 3 to 5 "
group.

308mate, in the States we refer to the 20 rounders as "normal capacity" mags.

The 20 round Ruger steel factory mags are available (but not right now) from Ruger.

The 30 round Ruger steel factory mags are almost impossible to find. If you can find them, they go for about $120 US (used).

There are many non-factory mags available for the Ruger Mini.... but with a very few exceptions, they're mostly junk.

AR-15 is a Corvette with a 350 V8.
Mini 14 is a flat-head ford.
