The latest version is supposed to be more reliable than those from a year or two back which were junk. I'd buy Pmags instead, though.

Regardless of platform they have been pretty much junk. What are you looking to feed AR, AK or Mini?

Looking at M1A magazines. I have had a lot of issues with the newer M1A magazines and was wondering if these would work any better. Thanks for the comments.

Steph, I've run thousand of rounds throught thermolds and I've never had an problem. The only thing I don't like is with the ribs, they don't stack as nice as aluminum mags.

Thanks for the info gentlemen. I really appreciate it. NE 450 No2, the stainless magazines look interesting, have you seen one in person? If you have how "polished" are they, could they be "painted"?

I've always heard that thermolds were junk. I do know that Canada had issues with using the wrong plastic for awhile. I have probably 30 of the newer "master molder" thermolds. These are my go to mag. I have never had an issue and they are much quieter, no tinny sound, which I prefer for coyote hunting.

I have yet to hear someone explain why they are junk or what issues they have had with these mags.

When Canada used them , they called them "Thermelts" as the plastic would get soft from the heat under full auto and deform the lips. Never heard what the outcome was.

I know about the term thermelts and as far as I can tell that's the only reason they get a bad rap. The master molders won't melt though.
