Yes.

The Fireball is based on the .221 Fireball, as is the .300 Whisper. The .300 Whisper is proven in the AR15 platform.

Probably, I would agree with George, although that sharp point on a shorter case might provide deferent feed characteristics than a .30 cal 220 grain tipped round.

I've got a .17 Rem in an AR. it feeds flawlessly, but I've got another what? .5" case length? Very accurate, minor pain to chase brass.

You might check on Saubier's page, somebody there might have tried this.

good luck.

GoWyo (love your handle, as I am a Wyo native myself).

Do you have a lot of fur damage on coyotes, fox, bobcats, coons and badgers with the 17 Remington?

I have never used it, but I went with the 17 Fireball in a M7 Predator because I was told at the time the 17 Rem was too much of a good thing.

I have killed a stack of our Australian Red Foxes with the 204 which are standard issue English Red Foxes living on marsupials, english rabbits, European Brown hares, and all the rest of the Australian micro fauna they can eat. They are 2/3rds the size of most American coyotes. Or about double the size of an American red fox.

Howdy MOA,

.17 Rem and the .17 FB are the most fur friendly rounds out there. The Berger .25 gr Match HP is the one to use, not the MEF. Some like the 30 grainers. I've got this AR and a Sako A1 that prefer the 25 grainers.

I've no experience with the .20's but have heard similar things, with added range.

I may have to try one of those some day. Probably the .20 tactical so I can use .223 brass. (read cheap bastard) I've seen pix of the aussie and english foxes and thought they appeared larger! now I know. As you know, american reds are tiny, and any centerfire round can make a large hole if it enlists bone to blow out with the bullet on the off side.

The allure for the fb is it is more efficient than the 17 rem. Approximately 90% of the velocities with 60% of the powder use. (or close, pulling these out of the fuzz.)

Nosler will be producing some new factory loads for both I've been reading. Varmaggedon ammo.

What's an ex-poke doing in Oz? Wife and i went there for our honeymoon in 2000. We had a blast- Sydney, diving off of Cairns on the GBR, Daintree RF, good memories.

LMAO! Might want to wait five months. It's the windy season you know and then there's that white stuff. Hey, Can you even own AR's there?

You could move West a few hundred miles. Be just like home or go to NZ if you miss sheep. Then again, pretty soon we may get to hunt griz and wolves. That would trump your funnelweb spiders and taipans.

I would be a lot easier to just order a 17 Rem barrel for the AR...

You can't own anything in Australia.

Single shot, double rifle, pump, and bolt action rifles.

Double and single shot shotguns.

Pistols can be owned even auto pistols, but they can only be shot at a certified target range.
