Hey guys, I have a little bit of wobble on the front takedown pin between my upper and lower receivers. Does anybody have an idea as to what will correct this? Thanks in advance for your help. Sam

There's an orange rubber wedge to be installed at the bottom rear of the receiver that takes out the front pin wobble and the play between upper and lower receivers.

The little device is called an "AccuWedge." They work fine, but generally don't affect accuracy because fit of upper to lower doesn't. Makes you feel better but not much else. In my experience the AccuWedge also makes the gun much harder to open and close. I think it is a "feel good" product also. "DRSS"

Armalite makes a +.001" oversize pivot pin. It costs $10. George

I found the same thing, it varies among components, but I can't hunt with a rattlely gun. I used a feeler guage to measure the space between the upper and the lower, at the point where the front pin goes through, then I found a piece of shim stock that was the same thickness and stamped a washer with a 1/4" id out of it and installed it on the pin, now, no side to side slop and no rattle.

There are a couple of split pins out there that expand when a screw in them is tightened. They snug up in the holes and tighten the upper and lower. I thimk there is one that has a cam on it too. Check Brownell's. A bad day at the range is better than a good day at work.
