I am having problems with the little lever which holds the front hand guard in place on the Golani. It flips up while firing allowing the front hand guard to come loose and fall off. The hand guard is installed with the lever in the vertical and then it flips back towards the receiver at 45deg to lock it in place. NRA Benefactor TSRA Life DRSS Brno ZP-149 45-120 NE

IIRC the handguard retainer on the Galil is the same (mostly) as an AK. AK is 90 degrees and I've never seen 1 that was only finger tight. Each I've tried needed a fat blade screwdriver to help it along and required a bit of effort to get all the way back down. ____________________________________________ "If a man can't trust himself to carry a loaded rifle out of camp without risk of shooting somebody, then he has no business ever handling a rifle at all and should take up golf or tennis instead." Ahhh... Thanks for the info. The guide I have does not have any detail about disassembling the hand guard and the photos all show the lever at 45. I'll tap it down as you suggest. Thanks, Eric NRA Benefactor TSRA Life DRSS Brno ZP-149 45-120 NE
