Any of you guys have experience with an AR chambered in 5.45X39? I'm thinking of building one with a 16 or 18 inch barrel. Flat top with iron sights. Ammo is plentiful and cheap. Not looking for 1 hole groups at 100 yards either. I've read that feeding/magazines have been an issue with these, any truth to it? For this build reliability is paramount as is weight and compactness. Thanks guys **************************The two enemies of the people are criminals and government, so let us tie the second down with the chains of the Constitution so the second will not become the legalized version of the first. | ||

I have a S&W 5.45X39 M4 clone. I use C Products stainless 5.45X39 30rnd mags and it's as reliable as any AR-15 I've ever owned Most 100yd 5 shot groups are around 2" but I've shot more MOA groups with than I can remember. I'm on my second barrel, the 1st one lasted 6000rnds before accuracy began to suffer. For cleaning the only special thing I do is soap up the BCG and run it under hot water. I have really enjoyed mine, it makes a great practice/plinking rifle. When I bought mine you could get a 1080rnds for $109. I don't know what it's going for now.
