Has anyone had any 1st hand experience with the Barrett 98 Bravo? I am considering one for long range "pig" shooting, not to mention another toy.
Looks like an interesting sniper type rig. I would rather Barrett offer a 338 RUM chambering because of cost and availability of brass however I suspect the 338 Lapua is a universal offering around the globe.

I held one at the Shot show and at the Global Security Show in Asia. As most Barrett's it's a very well engineered piece of work, a lot of thought went into it. The bolt operation is amazing with zero "wobble". 9 lugs like the Mark V Weatherby so it's a short bolt throw. One of the only reason's I don't have one is the 338 Lapua round... There's just nothing I'd shoot with it. Brass is 2.59 EACH! and nothing surplus. When NYS takes my BMG I'll probably get one.
