Greetings,
Anyone have, know of a friend or a shop that has a BSA (Birmingham Small Arms) Lee Speed commercial sporting rifle they are interested in selling?
These are basically the commercial versions of the Lee Metford/Lee Enfield .303 military rifles made by BSA.
I would gladly pay a finder's fee for any information that leads me to a purchase.
I come with the same ones on Google searches so am trying a different approach.
I am particularly interested in finding one in 375 x 2.
Canadian, British, and OZ citizens out there- let me know as well!

Joe,
One I saw that I always wanted was the Alex Martin one at:
http://www.exotek.co.uk/stensby/firearms.htm

I'm hesitant of trying to import something, though, and I have another project that's hoarding my funds at the moment.
You may have seen this site, but just in case...
I've always wanted a BSA sporter but they're hard to find in the states. If you're ever interested in selling one of your 303s let me know...
Mark.

Yes, I have seen these BSA Lee Speeds. However, the one you mentioned has a very much unoriginal large sling swivel mounted on the forearm which means an extra hole on the stock.
I have bought and received one rifle from across the Pond, and yes, and the seller did embellish on the condition of the rifle a tad. I ended up reselling this rifle a few months later as it was not in the condition I collect.
If, and a big "if" I were to do this again, I would require many pictures before I sent $$.
My .02 worth,

At the last Reliant Center gun show, there was a very nice BSA-Lee-Speed on display. I lusted badly for it, Was it yours? Like the previous poster, if you ever decide to sell one of yours, let me know. I would love to have a less than perfect sample for a using rifle. I have a Vickers .318 and a pair of .256r Mannlichers(A&N, McNaughton) that need company! Regards, Lee.

Yes, that was my display at the Houston Gun Collector's Show at Reliant Center.
Come this weekend and see all 4 of my Lee Speeds at one time, along with a couple of other member's Lee Speeds, 1 military and one in 25/35.
See you there,
Joe

You see these rifles at gunshows here in Australia ,every second gunshow would have one . I will keep a look out but what price are you willing to pay? I recall $AUD1200 on one and $AUD2000 on another if interested I can get sellers details for you.

BSAJoe,

I have a friend who is a dealer in the UK and who is due to deliver a large consignment of guns to a reputed store in New York. He did mention having a few Lee Speed sporters and I could put you in touch with him if you like. You could discuss this with him direct.

Good hunting!
