The 'GEHA' mauser conversion shotgun is fairly common. I belive most were a product of the 1920's and were conversions on the GEW 98 action. I've seen them in 12 and 16 gauge. That one looks in very nice condition...has it been refinished? | |||

That should be easy enough to replace. The Frank Barnes book of Bolt Action Rifles has a fairly extensive article on these 98 Shotguns. If you'll look at the front end of the bolt and corresponding receiver, you'll see that the action no longer utilizes the front lugs for locking, but depends on the rear safety lug in the bridge for its lockup (according to Barnes). | |||
