fishingIt is a 6.35 cal. (25auto)
Top of action in an elipse is stamped LE FRANCAIS.

The side of the Frame is stamped, MANUFACTURE FRANCAISE D'ARMES ET CYCLES DE SAINT ETIENNE

Inside the frame under the barrel is perhaps a proof mark and a capitol S.

ON THE BARREL UNDER THE CHAMBER ARE PROOFMARKS/ AND PTb.and #s 186442 and 802. On the bottom of the barrel are cross cannon and joined letters M F, 6.35 cal. markings and the word BREVETE ,60,0 and a laural wreath with an M in the center and Saint (top) Etienne (bottom). This identical mark is on th clip bottom.

The grip back strap has B F and the # 544 stamped on it.

It features a tilt barrel similar to some of the small calber Berettas and has black walnut grips one of which has a small chip on a corner. The bore is in surprisingly great shape for a pistol that looks to date back perhaps to WWI.

This will be offered for sale as soon as a value can be established. I am completely in the dark and any help will be appriciated. Thanks, beerroger

If you go to this link and scroll down a whole bunch you'll get to one advertized as NIB with original papers for 450 Euros. Prices in France are generally 50% higher than prices in the USA.
