How to 'read' serial number

I need some help. i am looking at a Winchester Model 70 rifle and would like to know what year it was built. Can anyone help me 'read' the serial number? Thanks!

Pre- or post 64, pushfeed or Classic,
letter prefix and first three digits would be a start.

I assume it is not a SC/FN of latest make.

annual serial number range:

1974: 1,130,147 to 1,176,878
(quantity 46,732)

Google it. You will find several places on the web where the SN's are listed and you can tell when the gun was made.
