I was wondering what people think about this rifle? In my opinion, it was superior to lever actions of it's day. It points faster, cycles shells quicker, and I think, was very well machined.

Sir: I have one in .32 remington, still take afield occasionally. Pump rifle shooters of modern vintage guns don't know what they are missing. ned

I have one in 35 Rem and have hunted with some it was passed down to me from my brothers son and havent conected with any game as of yet with it I only take it out when the weather is nice but one day. It handles like a dream and shoots very nice groups with 200 gr's one day I'll put it altogether

. . . and it had a tubular magazine with a design which offset the nose of the bullet from the primer of the shell in front of it, thus allowing the use of more ballistically efficient pointed bullets. I have one in .25 Remington that a 90 grain Sierra HP works beautifully in. The 100 grain Nosler BAllistic tip should also do nicely in this gun without messing up the point too badly. These types of bullets turn the old .25 into a reasonably flat-shooting 200 yard deer rifle. The M14 was also adaptable to a low over-bore scope, unlike the Winchester lever series.
