Hello; Just read an article on this subjec in an ancient Rifleman magazine. The generic name for these things is Northwest guns and they are rare, according to the article. They were not of the best quality, built by the lowest tender for the fur trading companies. Their life expectancy was given as 3 or 4 years, mostly because their native owners abused them and then turned the remnants into orher handy things. If their owner expired before his trusty fusil, they buried it with him. Grizz Indeed, no human being has yet lived under conditions which, considering the prevailing climates of the past, can be regarded as normal. John E Pfeiffer, The Emergence of Man Those who can't skin, can hold a leg. Abraham Lincoln Only one war at a time. Abe Again. | |||
