Got my 85 today

Orig high wall 30" 3# barrel,a worn gun but unmutilated.Orig tang sight.Bore looked rough but it shoots 1/2 groups at 50 yds.All in all pretty happy.45/60. hopin to plunk a whitetail with it this year

Sounds nice indeed. Haven't heard of a .45-60, but Winchester made some weird things. Perhaps you meant .45-70 however. What are these going for today? I'm thinking with the original sight, it might have cost you a fair bit.

If the bore is too rough, reline it and have a perfect bore in an original barrel. I did this with a very worn, pitted, ugly .38-55. Works wonderfully now.

Ya its 45/60.Thats one they came up with for the 76 and like every other cal it ended up in the 85 eventually..Like I said bor looks rough,but with thumbnail size groups I aint touchin it.Everything is complete ,uncut,period sights,shoots like a dream 2400usd
