I would not say that I collect Kimbers, but I do own and shoot about half a dozen of them.

I guess I'm a user. I've got a series two Eclipse and I just bought a barely used series one CDP compact. Great guns.

Beware using split follower mags in the aluminum framed guns, the lips will gouge the frame below the feed ramp. It's best to use the wilson mags with the polymer followers or the metalstorm? or the new Kimber mags have different followers. Tidbit I got off of 1911Forums.com

I just saw this post. I currently have 16 Kimber of Oregon rifles. I guess that makes me a collector. Actually I love the rifles. I have some rare calibers like a Big Bore 84 in 250, 375 H&H African, Custom Classic 222 Rem Mag, Custom Classic in 5.6X50 Magnum, and 300 H&H Super Grade. I would love to get my hands on a 505 Gibbs but the prices are through the roof when you find one.

Since your discussing Kimbers I thought this would be a good place to ask if any of you have any experience with the 84M? I have been considering a Remington M7 in 308, but just saw the new 84M Montana in 308 and like the looks of it.
Thanks.

I would go for the Kimber. I don't have any newer Kimbers but have looked at a few. The one I handled is the 84 Montana, stainless, synthetic stock. I liked it and am waiting to get one in 7MM WSM.
