i have a remington 700, made in the remington custom shop. my father bought it new many years ago. he is not around to ask what year he bought it so i started doing some looking on the net to try to figure it out. i found all the info about the letter codes on the barrel. however, the problem is that this rifle has no letter codes on the barrel. on the left rear of the barrel there is a heart stamped. forward of that it says 7mm rem mag. the serail number has no letter prefix..just a 7 digit serial number. how can i determine when this rifle was made and its approx value. it is in what i would say is 95-97% shape. a few handling marks on the stock and all the metal is perfect as far as i can see. i know my father shot one deer with it and i used(very carefully) it one year to kill two deer. it has stayed in the house the rest of the time. any info anyone can provide is much appreciated. blaming guns for crime is like blaming silverware for rosie o'donnell being fat | ||
